Hello
Sometimes we just need someone to be there with us in our difficult moments in life. When you are ready, I look forward to journeying alongside you in your unique grief experience.
About Me
The theme on the website of the cherry blossoms came from a visit to Washington in April 2023, where the inspiration to become an independent practitioner for bereavement services was initiated. Cherry blossoms remind us in their short flowering season of how fleeting life can be, but also of the promise of a new vibrant, life. For me, In the midst of grief this provides a sense of hope and joy which is so important.
I am passionate about supporting those who are struggling in processing their grief experience. I offer a caring and compassionate approach in a private, confidential space to support you in moving forward in living with your life losses. The compassion-based approach used, is influenced by my varied experiences in nursing, additional training in grief, loss, and bereavement through formal education channels, and my own experience of both death and non-death losses in my life.
Whether you just need someone to talk to about your grief experience or a more in-depth approach is required, both grief support or grief counselling can be provided. I am a licensed counsellor regulated under the College of Nurses of Ontario practice standards. In addition, I provide the option for a faith-based grief support approach. My grief support and counselling approach combines the philosophy of companioning the griever as described by Dr Alan Wolfelt, utilizes a compassion-based therapy approach, and a meaning reconstruction approach in grief counselling as taught by the Portland Institute to support processing and integration of the loss experience into your life.
